A Lamb Comic.(Updates on Sundays)

Today’s been too much of an emotional roller coaster for me to handle and i was preoccupied with schoolwork

I’m both sad, mad, happy, and confused all at the same time and if i try to stay up late to finish it i’ll be in a worse state and waking up late to have little to no time to do anything

I’m sorry ‘bout all this, i do have the sketch done so all i need to do is ink

I hope I didn’t come across as alienating nsfw artists! I really don’t mind NSFW at all, and if anyone did do r34 of my characters, I wouldn’t be upset

When I say it can’t be on here, i don’t mean it as to frown upon those who do draw it (after all my pinup was a bit suggestive but not overtly sexual x3;)

It’s just that not everyone who follows is here for r34, some might be even young teenagers so I don’t want to be exposing them to explicit parts, or anything that is clearly a fetish, even if they may be aware of it. (I’m aware this might be hypocritical of me ><; )

I want everyone to be comfortable on here, so I am accepting of NSFW and what people like in it! BUT, I have to keep in mind of the people that may not be into it/it makes them feel uncomfortable, they’re just as important and worthy of attention
So i’m sorry if my pinup went a little too far X3;;;

Since I have a growing following I have to be more careful about my actions and be responsible with it

Just for a sec, but i do wanna thank you all for following and being here, i’m not in the best of emotional states, but to know there’s people who care makes me feel a bit better ❤️

Just know I’d never make a decision about content on here if i never thought about it, i think about the writing, art, and how i respond constantly.

I never would do anything to purposefully anger or hurt you all, so know I do think about it ^^

As for me I’m hitting the hay, I’m kind of physically and emotionally exhausted

Thank you all so, so much, I hope to keep you all intrigued, interested, and invested in the comic and it’s characters, I unfortunately do not have a lavish ful color pic celebrating it (because midterms and weird schedule) but here is sketch

Really, this is not a tutorial on how you should make them, but it is an insight to how I make them.

So I’ll briefly touch upon plot, I could go on and ooon about it, but in short: It is not a quick process and it should not be rushed.

Important notes: Figure out what the beginning, middle, and end is going to be. Spend a lot of time and care in developing characters and setting, make it unique and stand out.

Once I had that all that figured out, I began writing a script, with notes on setting, character dialogue and proposed actions and notes on what their facial features/emotions will be:

I also highlight the pages, note which dialogue or actions will be on which panel, etc.

After that is figured out, i do very rough sketches on what the comic may look like, then I make the ACTUAL sketch on paper: (Rough sketch on left, Final sketch on right.)

After that, I transfer the final sketch into my art program (Manga Studio) and begin creating separate layers, and inking:

(Notice how the last panel is empty, since all I really have to do is slightly the same picture, I just copy and paste the same outlines and colors into that panel)

Then I color in the background, and foreground (characters).
BUT what’s important to remember is that the characters, or foreground objects HAVE to contrast with the background, either a little or a lot. I try not to have them blend with each other.

Then you have shading, I simply create another layer, put it on ‘multiply’ mode and shade the colors in with black or grey:

Now the text! I have a specific font called ‘Anime Ace’ where you can download on many sites. I make sure the font isn’t too big and ESPECIALLY not too small so people can read it, I type down the text first, THEN create a new layer, draw the word bubbles (with white behind it.)

“AAAAH HOUSE!”

Now, after putting down your signature and date (important) it seems done, but you know it doesn’t look manga enough for me.

This is where the screentones effect comes in.
This can be achieved in many ways, you can download a page-sized picture of a screentone pattern, put it over the entire comic page you made, and put that image on ‘overlay’ mode. Or you can take that screentones pattern, and put it into Photoshop as an editable pattern (tutorial here) (also you can create a pattern with a large image too, it’s what I did.)

Now, you should get a result like this, before & after:

Then final product!!

Then save it! Name the file in an easy way to find, like: “Comic2_Page3″ or in any way you want

Also SAVE ALL YOUR WORK IN AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE/DEVICE.

Whether it be USB, a drive, a CD or anything, just to be on the safe side in case anything happens. (I have an archivist type mind when it comes to this, it makes me so paranoid.)

From a desert trip that was interesting but physically and kinda emotionally exhausting x_x

Since classes began I had no idea what it would be since it was a new schedule, but now, I know, now comics will be updated EVERY WEEKEND, either Saturday or Sunday.

Also, tomorrow I’ll be uploading the new page, mainly because I’m possibly going to travel far for the weekend (yaaay..) Just a heads up XP

Well, judging from the responses I got, most of you are Canadian and British (planning to visit those two countries if i have the chance!) a lot of you are Scandinavian (Sweden and Finland :3) many others from Germany and Australia, one from South Africa, Venezuela, Austria and Chile!

Honestly I want to travel more, literally the only time I was outside of this country was in 2006-07 i went on a field trip to Canada when I was living in upstate NY (Liverpool, Syracuse, i was in elementary school :3) and we were all visiting this village that showed you what life was like in the 1800s, so I didn’t really visit a major city X3;

But I loved it, i need some time out of here again since things have become a bit overwhelming ;w;
(also have been writing more!)

This is out of curiosity, my posts are either being reblogged by extreme late night bloggers or people in completely different timezones!
