Needed this for staying on model!! >o<
Basically if I
needed to make a model sheet for an animated production of Lamb, this
would be it, hence it isn’t as detailed as other pics of them o:
Also
I forgot, for each character, colors on the left are the main colors,
ones in the middle are shading colors, and ones on the right are
lighting colors

Running time: 1 hour 22 minutes
A recently widowed mother, a mouse named Mrs. Brisby, must save her young son from dying from pneumonia.
Living next to a farmhouse, she and her family faces great danger from tractors and the humans and their cat potentially harming her family, and realizes she must move her entire house away to a safer location, because simply moving the family would endanger her young son’s life, as the cold air would kill him.Going great lengths to find out how she can move her house, she runs into other animals for help, and other rats who may help her- or even endanger her, while she learns more about her husband and what NIMH is…
The first animated feature film directed by Don Bluth, this one’s a classic, based off the 1971 book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.
From the main character, to the soundtrack, the art style and animation, it’s a very unique family film, a much more mature family film.
Brisby is my all time favorite character, even though she is frightened of what she faces, she continues to go forward knowing that she’d probably perish trying to protect her family, a different type of strong character, she’s also just the sweetest and has a very soothing voice that can easily comfort <3
The tone and atmosphere of the whole film feels lighthearted and whimsical in some moments, but also feels epic and brooding at other times, and the inclusion of seemingly spiritual and mystical qualities makes it much more intriguing and opens a whole possibility of fan theories, analysis and speculation into the film.
The film’s soundtrack is also stellar, done by the legendary composer Jerry Goldsmith (who also did the soundtrack to Alien, Poltergeist, and Rudy) and helps cement and formulate the eerie and even lively tone of the film’s scenes.
This is one I’d highly recommend, not only is it a family film that can be looked at not only as a good mature story, but can be fully analyzed for what the film’s themes and motifs mean. It was the one film that really helped me get into writing and comics and Brisby is the one character who has had a huge impact on the characters I write, definitely check it out <3

Episode count: 39 & 1 film
A young girl, who met a prince when she was very young, was given a ring by him so that they may meet again one day. The girl was so impressed by him that she decided to try and be a prince herself, one day.
The girl, Utena Tenjou then attends Othori Academy, in masculine prince-inspired attire and and still carrying the prince’s ring, and meets a quiet and strange girl named Anthy Himemiya, who is getting bullied and abused by other students. Seeing this, Utena then challenges the opposing students to a series of duels to protect Anthy, who is also known as the “rose bride”while there are talks about a mysterious power to “revolutionize the world"…
With it’s excellent character design, breaking down barriers of gender roles and human sexuality, a great and diverse soundtrack, with some stunning visuals and iconography, Utena wasn’t anything I expected, but that was a good thing. It kept me intrigued and I really had no idea where the show would go, making me want to watch more.
Utena is very much a strange show with many quirky and comedic moments that make it stand out, while also having mature romantic and psychological themes which helps make it a show that is not overtly dramatic, but also not putting comedic moments in inappropriate areas either.
The show is also a wonderful re-imagining/deconstruction of the magical girl genre, placing it in a fairy-tale inspired setting with the usual tropes of transformation, magic, and feminine roles warped and with psychological themes discussed in the show as well. It really is a show that you have to really pay close attention to though as the story progresses.
I really loved the artwork, the imagery, and the relationship between Utena and Anthy, and some of that inspired the comic’s artwork and some of the characters as well, but more on art ^w^ .
The Adolescence of Utena movie has left fans mixed, but I personally loved it.
Important things to note for the movie! This is a completely alternate retelling to the series, and resolves around a specific theme that is told almost entirely by symbolism, but even though this is an alternate retelling, it is still good to watch the show first before the movie, if you are interested in it.
That’s all I have to say, hope this was interesting :3
Huh, still realized that I never did that shows-that-inspired-comic recommendation thingy, will do that soon!
